Q
Tell me about the portrait session.
The Portrait Session
When you arrive at the WoofPix studio, your pet will have plenty of time to sniff around and explore before we begin. Your pet’s safety and comfort are the most important things to me, so no photographs will be taken until they feel relaxed in the studio.
It can help to bring along a few familiar items such as favourite toys, treats, or a blanket or bed that smells like home.
Once your pet is comfortable, we’ll begin the photoshoot and go entirely at your pet’s pace (or occasionally slow things down a little if they’re a high-energy spaniel!). With the help of toys, treats and the occasional strange noise from the photographer, we’ll capture plenty of cracking portraits that show off your pet’s personality.
And if you’re not too camera-shy, your pet might even allow you to join them for a photo or two at the end of the session.
The session itself usually lasts around 45 minutes, but I allow plenty of time and will dedicate up to two hours if needed. We simply let your pet’s enthusiasm for modelling guide us.
After the photoshoot, your images will be carefully edited and prepared for your viewing appointment, usually 1 to 2 weeks later. During this session you’ll see your finished portraits and choose your favourites, deciding how you’d like to use your £90 credit. Many clients choose a beautiful piece of framed wall art for their home, while others prefer a collection of prints.
You’ll also be able to see and handle examples of the frames and artwork available in the WoofPix studio.

I do not provide high resolution files because it is important to me that the artwork I produce is printed correctly and to a standard that retains the quality that I capture for you.
Q
What if my dog misbehaves?
Please don't worry! I don't know any dogs that automatically know how to behave in a photography studio. There are lots of tricks up my sleeve for us to get your dog into a fab pose whilst making sure they are having fun
No obedience training required!
Q
Can the human get in the photos too?
Of course! We'll concentrate on your pet first, then if you or the kids want to join in at the end for a few shots, just ask.
Q
I have more than one dog/pet, can I bring them all?
Up to two dogs from the same household are included in the standard fee, though I do ask if you can bring a handler for each dog to help make the session run more smoothly.
Each additional dog (over 2 dogs) incurs an additional fee of £30 each (this is because of the additional studio and editing time required).
Please contact me about more than four dogs or for litter sessions, depending upon the breed we may not have space in the studio for a group shot but I have tricks to make this possible :)
Q
How do I book?
Just send me an email or complete the contact form on the website and I’ll get back in touch to arrange a suitable date for your pet’s photoshoot.
To secure the booking, I’ll request a £90 booking payment. This covers your portrait session and also becomes credit that you can use towards artwork when you attend your viewing appointment.
Before the photoshoot we’ll have a quick chat about your pet and anything I should know — their personality, favourite treats or toys, and what kind of portraits you might like.
Then it’s the fun part — the photoshoot itself!
Around a week or two later you’ll return to the studio for a relaxed viewing appointment where you’ll see your finished portraits and choose your favourite images and artwork.
And don’t worry — I’ll guide you through the whole experience from start to finish
Q
What products are available to purchase?
You can choose from a variety of products to show off your beautiful portraits. I specialise in framed wall art, but you can also purchase fine art mounted prints or a versatile print box package. Most clients choose a piece of framed wall art to display at home, with additional prints or a print box for family members.
I will send you a full product guide and price list prior to your portrait session, and you’ll also be able to see and feel all the products when you visit the WoofPix studio.
The wall art products are all premium quality fine art pieces, handcrafted in the North-East of England. Whenever a framed item is purchased, a tree is planted on your behalf. Product packaging is 100% recycled and recyclable, and all frames are made from FSC-certified wood.
Wall art prints are produced using UV-resistant archival inks on fine art papers designed to last a lifetime.
There is a choice of glazed or unglazed wall art. All glazed pieces are supplied with Art Glass as standard — a museum-grade anti-reflective glass designed to minimise reflections and allow the finest details of your pet’s portrait to be seen clearly. With reflections reduced to almost invisible levels and built-in UV protection to help prevent fading, Art Glass ensures your artwork can be enjoyed exactly as it was created.
The result is beautiful wall art designed not just to look stunning today, but to remain a treasured part of your home for many years to come.
